Former Mix 96 and Heart jock joins MKFM

Community radio station MKFM has hired former Chiltern/Heart 97.6, BBC Three Counties and Mix 96 presenter Gaz Wesley for breakfast.

gazHe started his new daily show this morning as the station commenced a 28-day Restricted Service Licence on FM to promote its DAB channel.

Gaz says: “I’m so proud to be part of mkfm. I was with them for their launch shows hosting breakfast and I’m ecstatic that they’ll be bringing local radio back to Milton Keynes permanently. Hosting the shows from the MKFM Studio Pod at Xscape is very special as most radio stations don’t give you a chance to see the action, but the Pod really gets you in touch with the listeners.”

The station was set up by former Horizon Radio and Heart 103.3 Programme Controller Chris Gregg and Sales Director Zoe Elie and will feature many former Horizon and Chiltern Radio presenters are returning to the MK airwaves including Mikey Faulkner, Joe Rudd, James Watts and Matt Cadman.”

MKFM Programme Director Chris Gregg is excited about the launch: “MKFM is a platform to shout about all the great things that happen in MK and it’s very exciting to be able to bring local radio back permanently.”
