Date set for the launch of TeamRock Radio

TeamRock Radio is to launch just before before midnight on Sunday 16th June, with the Iron Maiden song “2 Minutes to Midnight”.

The launch is planned for after the Download Festival, giving the station the opportunity to look back at highlights of the rock festival weekend.

The date is just two days after Planet Rock launches in the West Midlands on 105.2, and the closure of Kerrang! 105.2.

Billy Anderson, Chief Executive of TeamRock, said: “This is an exciting time for TeamRock Radio. After three long years, seeing our dreams eventually coming together will be very special, and to launch at such a prestigious event as ‘Download’ makes it even more amazing.

TeamRock Radio is part of a new content, creation and distribution business for rock fans around the world. It owns the rock titles, Metal Hammer, Classic Rock, Prog, Blues, and AOR Magazine as well as the brand extensions of the magazines alongside international events The Golden Gods, Prog Awards, and The Classic Rock Roll of Honour.

The station has been testing on national DAB digital radio for the last month and is being run by TeamRock’s Head of Radio, Moose, who will also host the breakfast show.
