Heartland FM nominated for Jerusalem Award

A religious programme on a community radio station has been nominated for a prestigious Jerusalem Award, up against BBC Radio 2 and Radio 4.

Heartland FM’s “Heart and Soul” religious programme presented by David Wilkie has been shortlisted for the Christmas 2012 Award, with BBC Radio 2, BBC Radio 4, HCJB Global (Bradford) and GRF Christian Radio (Glasgow) also in the running.

The Jerusalem Awards are the main awards for religious broadcasting in the UK, and entries are grouped in numerous categories, such as Good Friday, Easter and Christmas. The Awards promotes Christian involvement in broadcasting and the nominees come from across the UK from those just starting out and speaking to niche audiences to those with a wealth of experience and broadcasting on national channels.

The Award Ceremony will take place on October 16th at BAFTA in London.
