Roger Day joins Redstone FM for breakfast

DAB radio station Redstone FM has hired Roger Day to host the breakfast show when the station launches in Surrey and North Sussex in December.

Roger has a radio career spanning over 47 years and was one of the original Radio Caroline presenters. He has worked on stations around the country including Invicta Radio, Mercury FM, County Sound Radio and more recently on BBC Radio in the south before a networked evening show took him off-air.

His radio CV also includes Saga, Smooth, Piccadilly, Pirate FM, BRMB, Luxembourg and many more.

Speaking about his move to Redstone FM, Roger says he is “excited to be presenting a breakfast show again, focusing on community issues and making local radio as it should be”.

Steve Burge, Redstone FM’s Programme Director said: “I am delighted that Roger is joining us and will complement our team of dedicated and professional broadcasters, engineers and producers providing local and relevant radio to people living and working in the Surrey area.

“In an era where radio is increasingly centralized, our aim is to bring the local element back and provide a genuine local service for Surrey and in particular East Surrey. Roger has been at the forefront of local radio around the country and his experience will enable us to develop our local content”.

Redstone FM will launch on digital radio in December when this service is introduced and will broadcast to Surrey, Crawley and parts of North Sussex.
