TeamRock fans raise over £50k for redundant staff
Following the news that 73 members of staff have been made redundant from TeamRock, a JustGiving campaign has so far raised over £50,000 to help staff.
The target of £20,000 was smashed within hours of being set up, and is now on its way to £73k – giving each staffer who lost their job this week a grand to help out where the zero-redundancy pay hasn’t.
The company, TeamRock, operators of TeamRock Radio, went bust this week leaving all staff without any redundancy options.
A message on the JustGiving page reads: “These are good, hard-working, committed people that through Metal Hammer, Classic Rock, Prog Rock, TeamRock Radio and more, have supported the rock and heavy metal scene in this country for decades and now we, the rock community, need to pull together to help give something back.”
Most of the staff at the station found out on Monday about the future of the company and their jobs – except for one member of staff, currently on maternity leave, who found out on Facebook.
