Tom Hunter leaves Emap

Tom Hunter has left Radio City 96.7 as Managing Director.

Terry Smith, chairman of Radio City and the station’s founder, said today: ‘Tom Hunter has left Radio City at his own request to concentrate on other interests.

Terry continues: ‘Tom has had 10 great years at Emap Radio, including implementing Radio City’s move to St John’s Beacon, and we wish him every success in his new ventures.

‘We will be seeking to reappoint a new Managing Director as soon as possible.’

UPDATE: The Liverpool Echo today report Tom Hunter sensationally quit after an emergency meeting and that staff were distraught by the annoucement.
