The Isle of Sheppey, just off the North Kent Coast was one of the eight new areas to gain a new radio station this week as Ofcom awarded the final batch of Community Radio licences for round one.
BRFM – or Bridge Radio FM is run by Danny Lawrence and aims to provide a community service to the 37,000 population on the Isle of Sheppey. It was Danny’s child hood ambition to run his own radio station and this week that ambition has come true. He told RadioToday.co.uk: “Now the licence has been awarded we can move forward and produce good community radio for the area.”
The station website has now been updated with the news and can be found at brfm.net.
