GMG set launch date for Rock

GMG Radio has announced the launch date of Scotland's first classic rock station, which is set to take over from Q96.

96.3 Rock Radio will officially launch on Monday 8th January 2007 across Renfrewshire, Glasgow and Dunbartonshire on FM and across the west of Scotland on DAB Digital Radio.

The station will continue to broadcast local news and content for the area from its new studios built within its sister station Real Radio, situated just off the M8 at Baillieston.

From 8th January 2007, 96.3 Rock Radio will broadcast to a new larger Total Survey Area (TSA) of over 800,000 adults and will be supported by a significant marketing campaign.

96.3 Rock Radio’s Managing Director, Billy Anderson said: “This is a very exciting time for GMG as a radio group launching a new brand and also for Scotland. As Scotland’s first Classic Rock station we will provide an alternative listen whilst encompassing the key local news and information services for our listeners”.

We'll bring you the new weekday line up for the station soon.
