Ten sacked after radio death

Following news that a woman radio contestant had died shortly after taking part in a radio competition, radio station 107.9 The End has fired ten employees. In addition, the morning show has been suspended pending an internal investigation.

The competition, called 'Hold your wee for a wii' invitedlisteners could win a new Nintendo Wii video game system. One contestant, 28 year old Jennifer Lea Strange was found dead at her home just hours after the event, having suffered from water intoxication.

Participants competed against each other to see how much water they could drink without going to the bathroom.

The "Morning Rave" link on the station's Web site was missing today. The myspace.com site for the station no longer listed morning DJs Trish, Lukas or Maney as its "friends."
