Virgin promotes Prison Break

Virgin Radio has teamed up with the five television show Prison Break to run an interactive on-air campaign today and all this week. Live reads and trails last week encouraged listeners to tune in all day today, the day of the first episode, for 'Monday Manhunt'.

Listeners are invited to track down the show’s hero Michael Scofield, using clues given out on air resulting in prizes being won on The Geoff Show between 8pm and midnight.

Listeners must text in with predictions for how long it will take Gareth, the breakfast show runner, to get back to the studios in Golden Square after ‘escaping’ from a different London prison each day using any means of transport available. Trips to US locations famed for their prisons, such as Alcatraz and Sing Sing, are up for grabs for the closest guesses.

“We’re delivering a great mechanic and ideal audience to generate more national awareness for Prison Break,” said Nick Hewat, Sales Director, Virgin Radio, “Having all of our weekday DJs – including Christian O’Connell at Breakfast and Ben Jones at Drivetime — deliver this will create real stand-out for the promotion.”
