Gambling ads set for radio

Under new rules which come into force in September, the ban on radio adverts for casinos, betting shops and online gambling sites is set to be scrapped. The same deal applies to television and will still be restricted to programmes not aimed at under 18 year olds.

In addition, anyone under the age of 25 can not be heard, or seen to be gambling.

The ads will also not be allowed to depict gambling as a solution to debt. Any radio advert for gambling must not relate the act to attaining a better self-image. Many more rules were established and they will be monitored by the ASA.
