The BBC has been forced to apologise after a presenter on BBC Radio Nottingham made a comment about naming a dog Mohammed. Mid-morning presenter Frances Finn made the comment during a conversation with a guest on Tuesday.
As the local radio presenter discussed Mrs Gibbons' release from a Sudan jail, she remarked: "Gillian Gibbons' son is pleased to see her and I'm sure her dog, Mohammed, is very pleased to see her as well."
The BBC issued an apology today (Wednesday).
