Real Radio Wales has given away its biggest ever prize – a £78,000 Redrow apartment.
Breakfast presenters Tony Wright and Angela Jay makes Neil Hearne's day with the giveaway in Merthyr Tydfil.
Tony was in the studio while Angela was broadcasting on location at Redrow’s Debut @ Gelli Dawel development, in Merthyr Tydfil.
On Friday Morning, each contestant drew from a bag containing 20 envelopes each containing a single key. One-by-one they were called to open their envelope and try their key in the door. The agony did not end until key holder number five, Neil stepped up and without hesitation pushed the key into the lock, the key turned the door opened and everybody went crazy.
Neil and Linda burst into tears of joy and Neil said; “I’m gob smacked, it’s all too much to take in. I’m shaking like a leaf here.” Linda said she felt the same way; “I can’t speak I’m too shocked.” Tony Wright asked Neil, did he think he would win? “No, I’m an unlucky person and I’ve never won anything.”
Ricky Durkin, programme director said; “Hide and Key is the biggest competition ever on Welsh radio and the people of Wales have really embraced it. We have had a fantastic time over the last month. Redrow have given Neil and Linda a wonderful opportunity to help their children in the property market and really change their lives and Real Radio is delighted to have been able to play a part in that. It’s been amazing fun!
