XFM Scotland presenter Jim Gellatly has won The John Peel award for outstanding contribution to music radio at this year's Radio Academy celebration of music radio awards.
Gellatly was praised for his [i]skill and understanding of music[/i]". "This is an amazing honour knowing who's won this in the past," he said. "The fact that I've been doing radio only in Scotland and I'm getting an award like this is pretty incredible.
"I'm dumbstruck really. Thank you to the guys at Moray Firth Radio who gave me that break. Long may XFM as a network and across the UK continue."
