BBC GLR – was it any good?

It was 20 years ago when GLR started broadcasting, and the Radio Academy is holding a special evening in London to mark the anniversary and talk to the talent behind it.

The station promised to be radical, innovative, clever, challenging, funny and inspiring. It was childing, shambolic, self-indulgent, patronising and silly.
It offered rock 'n'n rolling news, but halved the BBC's London audience.
Many presenters and production staff running the radio industry today started life there. Join Nick Higham as he talks to veterans including Chris Evans, Danny Baker, Fi Glover, Johnnie Walker, Emma Freud, Matthew Bannister and Trevor Dann on Thursday 23rd of October at BBC Training and Development in London from 6pm.
