The Virgin Radio name rejects

As Virgin Radio reveals a new brand which will enable the station to grow internationally, and beyond radio, Radio Today can exclusively reveal some of the names which made it to the shortlist.

Before using the obvious choice of parent company Absolute Radio, station bosses were considering names such as iRadio, Galleon and Nomad.
Once the new brand had been decided behind closed doors, one of the first tasks was to secure associated domain names, such as absoluteradio.com and absolutextreme.co.uk. Over 300 domains have been registered to secure the future expansion of the Absolute brand.
The station is currently identifying itself on-air as Virgin Radio soon to be Absolute Radio.
