BBC locals unleashed on iPlayer

All 40 BBC local radio stations are now available via the online BBC iPlayer. Full station schedules and listen again also form part of the listening experience.

The reasons for the locals not appearing before now, which have always been a missed feature, is explained in a [link=http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/bbcinternet/]BBC Internet Blog[/link].
It seems to boil down to the fact that schedule information from all local stations were compiled differently at each station, meaning a lack of uniformed way to display the information online.
Now, although new software and new technology is being used to group the information together, it seems it still comes down to the New Media Support Team who take responsibility for entering details onto a scheduling tool that then feeds directly into the programme information system behind /programmes and BBC iPlayer.
Sadly BBC local stations are still not available via the mobile version of iPlayer, for iPhone and iPod Touch users.
