BFBS to close Radio 2?
The British Forces Broadcasting Service is set to shut down Radio 2, and make make substantial cuts to their workforce of over 150 journalists, RadioToday.co.uk has learnt.
In a statement from the military broadcaster, it was confirmed that staff are being consulted about a proposed restructure. A decision on the job losses is scheduled for December 15th. "If the proposals go through up to 30 broadcasting staff are likely to be made redundant."
One reader told us a third of all journalists at the networks are having to reapply for their jobs.
BFBS is thought to be trying to find ways to re-appear on digital radio multiplexes in the UK, after a month-long [link=https://radiotoday.co.uk/news.php?extend.2905]trial[/link] earlier this year.
