Friday Night Project host Alan Carr is said to be joining BBC Radio 2 on a regular basis, as a replacement for Russell Brand. The Mirror claims producers at the station were determined to have a comedian back in the late-night slot.
The BBC have yet to confirm the [link=http://www.mirror.co.uk/celebs/news/2009/02/01/exclusive-alan-carr-to-replace-russell-brand-on-radio-2-115875-21087924/]report[/link], but a spokesman for Alan Carr confirmed he is in talks about a role on Radio 2, but not necessarily in Russell's former slot.
Alan Carr was first heard on the network on Christmas Day 2007 when he hosted Alan Carr's Christmas Box. He co-presented The Russell Brand show in October last year, along with one-off programmes on BBC 6 Music. He now hosts the Sunday Night Project on BBC 1.
