Broadcaster Tim Grundy dies

Tim Grundy, the former host of the Breakfast Show on Manchester’s Piccadilly Radio and the man who helped launch Reading 107 has died at the age of fifty.

Grundy, the son of infamous Sex Pistols interviewer Bill Grundy, started out as a coffee boy at Piccadilly Radio at the age of seventeen. Over the next decade he presented the station’s Breakfast Show before ascending to the role of Programme Controller, an influential role in which he mentored Chris Evans among other broadcasters. He’d also later enjoy success on TV at the Discovery Channel as well as with the successful Two’s Country series.
He was the father of two children and was chairman of The Children’s Adventure Farm Trust.
