Thieves caused Heart to stop

Heart in Peterborough, along with Gold, Lite FM and Kiss were all off-air for over 8 hours after transmitter cables were stolen.

The reams of copper cabling, which fed the transmitters in Gunthorpe, had been ripped out whilst the BT cabinet at the transmitter site was vandalised.
The incident happened at 23:30 last Monday, but it took until 8:45am for Heart to start broadcasting again via DAB, whilst Gold resumed broadcasting at 9:50am.
BBC Asian Network in the area was also off-air overnight.
