The NME iPhone application is proving to be a popular purchase in the Apple iTunes Store.
Since its [link=https://radiotoday.co.uk/news.php?extend.5020]launch[/link] on August 3rd, it has offered an immediate purchase and download facility of music played on the station.
NME Radio managing and programming director Sammy Jacob says: “The combined increase in audience and success of the app is very exciting news. Not only are we increasing our audience on existing platforms but also increasing the opportunity to listen via the app.
"With the app having an inbuilt direct purchase facility for tracks played on the station, this is a win for everyone – listeners, artists and music industry”.
The launch of the NME Radio iPhone app follows the station’s launch on to London DAB in May this year and adds to the station’s existing broadcast platforms – Sky, Virgin Media, Freesat and online.
