Tim Westwood gets 1Xtra drive

Tim Westood is taking over the drivetime show on BBC 1Xtra, whilst Ace and Vis are relegated to weekends.

Tim, best known as the host of television show Pimp my Ride, has been with BBC Radio 1 since 1994, and has presented programmes on both stations since. He will start the new programme on September 28th.
Ace and Vis, who currently host weekday drivetime, are to move to a new weekend show, taking over from Seani B who will now host the 1Xtra Mix tape show on Radio 1 on Sunday mornings from 3am till 5am.
Ben Cooper, Deputy Controller, 1Xtra, says: "Securing Westwood for daytime on 1Xtra is exciting for us. He's a brilliant broadcaster and will bring a lot of energy, passion and music knowledge to his new show."
