Windows 7 deal for Capital FM

Global Radio's Capital FM is to promote Microsoft's new Windows 7 software, in a link with the station's upcoming live music event, Jingle Bell Ball.
The event, taking place at London’s O2 Arena, will include Lady GaGa, JLS, Tinchy Stryder, Lily Allen and Noisettes.

As the headline partner of the Jingle Bell Ball, Microsoft will use the publicity in the build-up to the event to raise awareness of the launch of its latest operating system.
The Jingle Bell Ball with Windows 7, will carry substantial branding across print promotion as well as branding throughout the O2 Arena at the event. Windows 7 will also receive strong broadcast branding as new artists are revealed in the run up to the night.
The campaign is part of a larger partnership deal secured by UM London with Microsoft and Global Radio, which will also feature Windows 7 activity across the Heart Network.
Global Radio will also be partnering with London Lite, the Jingle Bell Ball’s media partner, the relationship will include advertising, editorial and on air activity.
Mike Gordon, Global Radio’s Commercial Director: “We are incredibly excited about our partnership with Microsoft and looking forward to playing a key role in the launch of Windows 7. The Jingle Bell Ball is the biggest indoor music event in the year and I'm delighted Microsoft will be with us every step of the way.”
UM’s Amanda Barrett, Radio Engagement Specialist: “We needed a solution to drive reach and engagement to support the Windows 7 launch and Capital’s JBB is an excellent platform with which to do this. By utilising Capital’s strong brand extensions, we can push our message out on numerous levels and we’re really excited about this opportunity for Microsoft.”
