Uxbridge DAB transmitter off

The Digital One DAB transmitter covering Uxbridge has been turned off this week, due to the Ministry of Defence requesting that the site is cleared.
Extra power has been provided by nearby transmitters so no listeners in Uxbridge should be left without coverage.

The transmitter was turned on in 2005 to reinforce coverage in the area, but since then eight other transmitters have been turned on in the surrounding area.
In addition, two new transmitters have been turned on in Hampshire and Surrey to extend and strengthen coverage for the national commercial stations.
