Banbury Sound bought by Quidem

Quidem Radio has acquired the Oxfordshire based Banbury Broadcasting Company Ltd. which broadcasts as Banbury Sound on 107.6 fm.

The independent station will now be part of Quidem's family of radio stations, Touch FM and Rugby FM.

Quidem Chairman, Wendy Pallot commented: “Quidem’s Midlands portfolio is making excellent progress in listening figures, sales revenue and profitability. In our first year of operation we have built a strong local radio business which is providing a solid platform for expansion. Banbury Sound has excellent listening figures, broadcasting to an area neighbouring our service Touch fm in Stratford-upon-Avon. ”.

Quidem Chief Executive, Steve Orchard said :”Important changes in regulation have given us the opportunity to provide strong local radio services to our audiences on a significantly better business model.

“The addition of Banbury Sound to our portfolio will safeguard local radio for listeners”

Quidem launched in June 2009 and has now acquired six radio stations in Warwickshire, Oxfordshire and Staffordshire with a potential audience of almost a million adults.

The radio station was previously owned by local businessman Russell Harrison.
