Wagner applies for Beacon job

X Factor finalist Wagner has apparently applied for a job as a presenter at Orion Media's Beacon Radio in Wolverhampton.

The station recently ran an online competition to find a new temporary co-host for the station's breakfast show while one half of the team takes maternity leave.

Wagner – who got a mixed reaction on the ITV singing show last year has apparently sent his CV to station bosses at Beacon asking for a job. He's a former PE teacher in Dudley, and it appears he already has his own page on the Beacon website [link=http://www.beaconradio.co.uk/wagner/]here[/link], with listeners supporting their local star in the X Factor.

Breakfast show producer Jon Wyer told [link=http://www.mirror.co.uk/celebs/news/2011/01/26/wagner-applies-for-radio-dj-gig-115875-22875936/]The Mirror[/link]: "He'd be brilliant – but he has to audition."

Listeners had until last week to register their interest in the job [link=https://radiotoday.co.uk/news.php?extend.6616]co-hosting with Nigel Freshman[/link], and Beacon are due to announce next month who's won the 8-week stint on air.
