Apple AM, the hospital radio station operating under a long term restricted service licence in Taunton has been found in breach of its licence by Ofcom.
The station failed to provide recordings of its output after a complaint was made about a presenters comment.
A listener complained that a presenter’s comments about the Government and the VAT increase were politically biased – the station station said that leaking water from a faulty air conditioning unit at its premises over the Christmas period had resulted in the logger failing.
In the absence of a recording the regulator was unable to consider the complaint but recorded a breach against its licence.
All stations, including restricted services, are required by law to record its output and keep a copy for 42 days.
