BBC Radio 1 is putting on an intimate gig with Red Hot Chili Peppers for just a thousand listeners next month.
The show will be the rock group’s first UK appearance in four years and they’ll also do an interview with Zane Lowe.
The performance will take place at Koko in Camden on 2nd September and acts as a warm-up to the band’s tour which starts in November.
Radio 1 is giving away 500 pairs of tickets to listeners who register on the station’s website by Sunday night.
Zane Lowe who will be warming up the crowds on the night with a DJ set and introducing the band on stage says: “The Chili Peppers have played such a big musical role in the lives of millions of people, myself included. I can’t wait to see how they launch this new chapter in their amazing journey.”
An interview and highlights from the Red Hot Chili Pepper’s Koko gig will be broadcast on Zane Lowe’s Radio 1 show on Monday 12th September.
