Real Radio North East breakfast duo Gary Philipson and Lisa Shaw have been turned into cartoons as part of a new weekly online promotion for the show.
The first of the ‘Real Radio Breakfast Bites’ featuring audio clips from the show went live this morning, produced by Middlesborough-based Back 2 Front Animation.
Programme Controller Jon Kirby told RadioToday.co.uk: “The Real Radio Breakfast Bite is a really fun way for people to see the personalities of Gary and Lisa come to life, in a way that not only compliments, but amplifies the fun and humour within the show. With so many of our listeners regularly interacting via social media platforms, we’d like to think that when these videos are posted on a Monday morning, Gary and Lisa put smiles on faces, that go on to be shared with friends.”
Lisa added: “It actually all started with Twitter. We used it to find an animation company to work with us, and we were thrilled to bits when Back 2 Front Animation in Middlesbrough jumped at the chance to get involved. They have really embraced the spirit of the show, although I have to say my teeth aren’t that big in real life.”
