UK-based technology firm All in Media is working with broadcasters in Hong Kong for the roll-out of DAB+ in the next few weeks.
The company has supplied DAB slideshow and text management systems, which are at the heart of the visualisation of the DAB+ broadcasts.
Trial broadcasts are currently underway in the country by state broadcaster RTHK and commercial operators Phoenix U, Metro Broadcast and DBCHK. It’s understood the full DAB+ service of 18 channels will launch early this year. For commercial broadcasters, DAB+ visual services provide a means of generating new revenue streams from advertisers and sponsors.
Chris Gould, All In Media’s Managing Director told RadioToday.co.uk: “We are pleased to be at the forefront of the expansion of digital radio to Hong Kong. We’re delighted that Hong Kong has joined the growing list of international broadcasters who are using our products to power their next-generation digital radio services.”
