Capital breakfast signs up for @JockFest

The breakfast team at Capital FM Yorkshire will present a special session titled The 24 Hour Breakfast Show at JockFest this May 18th / 19th.

hirstyscottPresenter Simon Hirst and Producer Scott Myers will reveal how they continue engagement with their audience long after the show has signed off the air at 10am.

The 24 Hour Breakfast show is all about how to make your breakfast show last for longer than the hours you’re on in the morning, with advice on how to generate recall and extend your show throughout the day.

Simon Hirst started his radio career at the age of 12 helping out at Radio Aire in Leeds.

He’s been at Minster FM, The Pulse, Hallam FM and Viking FM, and also hosted the commercial radio chart show from 2004 to 2006. He now presents one of the biggest breakfast radio shows in the UK at Capital Yorkshire and has just celebrated 10 years of Hirsty’s Daily Dose.

Scott Myers has worked for regional commercial radio stations for nine years, producing shows for Chrysalis, GMG Radio and Global Radio.

He is the Producer of the ‘Hirsty’s Daily Dose’ breakfast show on Capital FM in Yorkshire, the biggest commercial radio show outside London with over 600,000 listeners a week. In 2011, he featured in the Radio Academy’s inaugural ’30 Under 30′ list, recognising the 30 most talented people under the age of 30 in radio.

The 24 Hour Breakfast Show is just one of the sessions taking place at @JockFest, the weekend social event at Alton Towers on May 18th/19th, organised by RadioToday for presenters, producers and all on-air talent from across the industry.

Other sessions include PD Tips – four industry professionals who will be talking about matters relevant to radio presenters. What they look for when hiring new jocks. How they got to where they are today and advice for getting there in the future.
