BBC Radio Devon’s breakfast show presenter Simon Bates has left the station after two years.
The station hasn’t confirmed the reason for his departure, but Simon has told the local newspaper he has decided to move on to other things.
Mark Grinnell, Editor of BBC Radio Devon told RadioToday: “Simon is a great broadcaster. I’ve loved the contribution he’s made to BBC Radio Devon in the last two years. I’d like to personally thank him for all his hard work and dedication.”
The former Radio 1, Radio 2, Classic FM and Smooth Radio presenter joined Radio Devon almost exactly two years ago, replacing Matt Woodley on January 12th 2015.
Gordon Sparks has been covering the show, although Simon is still listed on the station schedule as hosting breakfast from 06.30am and the Golden Hour from 9am.
