Adelaide’s Fresh 92.7 has appointed former UK radio boss Dave Shearer as the new general manager at the station.
Dave will oversee both the content and sales sides of the business, reports RadioToday Australia.
“We’re delighted to have someone of Dave’s calibre on board at the helm of Fresh 2.0,” said station chair Paul Gordon. “Dave’s experience in programming and station management in Australia and throughout the UK has provided us confidence that he will be able to deliver the results we’re looking for.
“His appointment comes at a great time, as we celebrate the 20th year of Fresh 92.7 and steer the organisation into the next 20 years.”
Dave previously served as Programm Director for Nova 919.
“Fresh 92.7 has been a shining example of how to serve the youth of a great city for 20 years,” added Dave. “It’s an exciting time to be joining this excellent team and helping to drive new ideas and initiatives to help the next 20 years see even more success.
“I can’t wait to get started and work on some ideas that will help to make a real difference in Adelaide”.
Before leaving for Australia, Dave was Real Radio Programme Director in the North West and also worked at Red Rose, Wave 105, Hallam FM, Radio City, Key 103 and more. He started at Fresh 92.7 on Wednesday April 18.
