Felicity Evans appointed Cymru Wales Political Editor

BBC Cymru Wales has appointed former BBC Radio 4 and World Service presenter Felicity Evans as its new Political Editor.

Originally from Ebbw Vale, Felicity studied law at Oxford University before studying journalism at Cardiff University. She has worked as a journalist at BBC Wales since 1996.

Felicity currently presents Good Morning Wales and Good Evening Wales on BBC Radio Wales, as well as working on a range of current affairs programmes for BBC Wales and has previously worked on BBC Network programmes including Farming Today on Radio 4 and Newshour on World Service.

Garmon Rhys, Head of News and Current Affairs, BBC Cymru Wales, says: “I’m delighted to welcome Felicity to this role. She is an outstanding journalist who will be fearless in asking questions on behalf of the audience. She brings intelligence, curiosity and a passion for making politics engaging to audiences across Wales.”

Felicity Evans, Political Editor, BBC Cymru Wales, says: “I’m as excited as I am privileged to be appointed BBC Cymru Wales Political Editor. I have big shoes to fill but I’m lucky that I have so many talented and committed colleagues to work alongside in the political unit and across the newsroom.

“This is a time of great change in Welsh, British and International politics and, more than ever, our audiences need to know we’re going in to bat for them in scrutinising the people whose decisions affect all our lives. That’s exactly what we’re going to do.”
