The upcoming Young Audio Awards event at the BBC Radio Theatre has been postponed following the latest government advice on the coronavirus.
The awards for young people in radio and audio was scheduled to take place on Match 27th in London.
The ceremony would have been hosted by awards’ ambassadors Matt Edmondson and Mollie King from BBC Radio 1, and KISS FM’s Swarzy and Tyler West.
A statement from the organisers says: “We’re sorry to announce that, as a result of the latest government advice on the coronavirus, we have had to take the difficult decision to postpone the 2020 Young Audio Awards, which were due to take place on 27th March at the BBC Radio Theatre.
“We understand many, especially our nominees, will be disappointed and it’s frustrating to have to take this action. However the wellbeing of everyone involved must be our top priority.
“We are planning to reschedule the event and will provide an update in the coming weeks. Organisations, schools or families who were planning to attend can contact jade.atkinson@radiocentre.org with any questions.”
