Former long-serving presenter on The Bay, Tony Cookson, has returned to radio in the area with a show on Beyond Radio.
Cooky, as he’s known locally, hosted programmes on The Bay for almost 20 years before it was bought by Global and rebranded as Heart.
He’s joined the community radio team to present eveery Friday from 3pm till 6pm.
Tony said: “I’ve missed broadcasting to the North Lancashire area and can’t wait to be back on the radio again.”
Duncan Moore from Beyond Radio told RadioToday: “It’s great to have Cooky back on the radio in the North Lancashire area and we are really pleased that he is joining our team.
“We are sure our listeners will enjoy hearing his warm, friendly and familiar voice again as he brings them our usual mix of great music and local information on Friday afternoons.”
Cooky also works for Morecambe-based private ambulance firm NW PALS as a driver – taking patients from their homes to hospital for appointments, who will also sponsor the new show.
