Kisstory to air special documentary series with Sister Bliss

This is Distorted has collaborated with Sister Bliss to produce an in-depth documentary series celebrating the history of British dance music for Kisstory.

Dance Britannia, funded by the Audio Content Fund, is a six-part series presented by female DJs and founder member of faithless Sister Bliss.

The series will be a one of a kind behind the scenes journey into some of the biggest British dance artists and albums of the last 30 years.

Across six hours of music and intimate one-to-one interviews, Bliss sits down and talks candidly to her fellow UK dance icons about their incredible careers, influences, highlights, lowlights and origin stories. Alongside her music and DJ work, she’s also a passionate radio presenter and a natural behind the mic – having presented her internationally syndicated show “In Session” every week since 2010.

Sister Bliss said: “I’ll be sitting down with the homegrown legendary, iconic artists and innovators that have helped shape the scene and put UK dance music on the international stage over the last 30 years. I can’t wait to bring you this amazing celebration of UK dance music next year.”

Andi Durrant, Owner and Director of This is Distorted said: “Sister Bliss is a true pioneer of British electronic music, and as part of Faithless she changed the sound of dance music forever. We’ve been working with Blissy for a long time and we’re thrilled to be launching this new Dance Britannia project with her.

“She’s an incredible storyteller who’s experienced what it’s like coming from the underground clubs to selling millions of records and headlining the biggest festivals in the world. There’s no better person to sit down with her fellow dance legends and peers and tell the story of the icons and innovators that have shaped our scene over the last 3 decades.”

Rebecca Frank, Content Director for the KISS Network added: “We’re proud to be part of this exciting adventure into Dance Music royalty and foundation music! We’re all about old skool and anthems at KISSTORY, so to hear stories and revelations from the people who were there and made the tunes we all know and love will be so special. A must listen!

“Dance Britannia is a real celebration of the pure joy of dance music, told through the eyes of the people who have made the scene what it is today.”
