Malcolm Boyden has told his BBC Hereford & Worcester listeners that it has been decided he’ll no longer present his mid-morning show and he feels awful about it.
He began by saying: “Another day, another sad announcement, I’m afraid to tell you.” Malcolm then went on to say that as from Friday 6th October, he’s “really sorry, really, really sorry to have to tell you this,” that it’s been decided he’ll no longer be the presenter of the station’s mid-morning show.
“I’ve said many hellos and many goodbyes, but I think this has to be the hardest one,” he said. “I’ve absolutely adored doing both my Sunday show and my mid-morning show.”
He explained that because of the changes in BBC Local Radio, it’s been decided, not by him, he’ll no longer be presenting the show.
“How do I feel? Awful, awful, because it’s been my pride and joy. It has been a pleasure and a real joy, a real joy,” he emphasised.
Malcolm then thanked his listeners, telling them they’d been “absolutely lovely” to him. He added that he only enjoyed presenting the shows because his listeners enjoyed listening to them and that has made a real difference to him.
'Thank you from the bottom of my heart' ❤️
