Radio consultant Paul Chantler shares news about cancer diagnosis

Paul Chantler has shared some personal news that he has been diagnosed with liver and prostate cancer.

He says both conditions are inoperable but early stage and treatable.

Sharing the information on X, Paul says he has no symptoms, feels fine, and that his prognosis is good and he remains positive and upbeat.

He adds: “Next year marks my 40th year in the radio industry. While undergoing treatment, I’ll be winding down my consultancy and training commitments but will remain involved with Fix Radio and Podcast Radio. I’m enormously proud of both.

“With a bit of luck, I’ll be spending a lot of time indulging in my travel passions and pursuing my ‘bucket list’ of exotic locations!

“Thank you for your prayers, support, friendship and kind wishes.”

As mentioned, Paul has been involved in radio for four decades. In the 1990s, Paul was Group Programme Director for three of the UK’s biggest radio groups.

He was responsible for launching two UK regional youth-format stations – Galaxy and Vibe – as well as helping to launch Ireland’s speech station NewsTalk in 2002. He also ran UK national station TalkSport as Programme Director.

He is now an author and international radio consultant working with radio stations around the world.

We wish him all the best for the future from the team at RadioToday.
