BBC Radio 2’s traffic and travel reporter Sally Boazman has received a special award from the Guild of Motor Writers.
The annual awards are for those working in motoring editorial and there are also special awards to recognise the highest achievements in the industry.
The Special Contribution to Motoring award was presented to Sally at the Guild’s black-tie annual dinner at the Royal Automobile Club in Pall Mall on Thursday.
Since joining Radio 2 as its first traffic and travel reporter in 1999, Sally first worked with Johnnie Walker on Drivetime and went on to work with the likes of Steve Wright, Jeremy Vine and Chris Evans.
Speaking about winning the award, Sally said: “It’s a real honour to receive this award from The Guild of Motor Writers and to be recognised as making a valuable contribution to the world of broadcasting.”
Helen Thomas, Head of BBC Radio 2 added: “We’re delighted Sally has received this award and much-deserved recognition for the important role she plays in helping Radio 2’s listeners get where they need to go travelling around the UK. Well done Sally from everyone at Radio 2!”
We now move to the Guild’s nominated awards – a popular winner of the Special Contribution to Motoring is Sally Boazman, followed by millions as Radio 2’s ‘Sally Traffic’, receiving her award from sponsor Jonathan Musk of Kia UK ( @kiaukpr) and Guild Chair Simon Harris #GOMW23
