Embrace Radio presenter Jim Byrne wins at the Corby Music Awards

Embrace Radio’s Jim Byrne has won the 2023 Northamptonshire Radio Show of the Year award.

The award is part of the Corby Music awards which had nominees across Northamptonshire.

Jim was nominated alongside Darren Jackson and Chuck Middleton, and the evening was held in memory of former radio presenter Barry Addison who was awarded for his services to music.

Embrace Radio’s Saturday Morning Breakfast Show hosted by Jim scooped the Radio Show of the Year. Jim was full of joy upon receiving the award: “To be nominated was enough for me, but to win was something else. I’d like to personally thank everyone who voted for me. I’m delighted for Embrace Radio as it is recognition for the team’s hard work.

“I’d like to thank Pat McMahon for his guidance at the start of my career. His words of support I’ve never forgotten and I will always be grateful to him.

“To my wife Michelle who is always supportive and to my mate and business partner Paul Moore who lives and breathes Embrace. However, the night was about my mate Barry Addison. A truly lovely guy who we all miss.

“Embrace has been a big part of my life for the last seven years. We’ve gone from strength to strength and always have the listener at the heart of what we do. Both myself and Paul rely heavily on our wonderful team who are simply brilliant. We rely also on our sponsors who really believe in what we’re doing.

“The radio industry has suffered over the last four years but there’s always a chance for people who believe in what the listener wants. Providing a clutter free output is one of Embrace’s key missions meaning no adverts. The listener gets back to the music quicker. We can’t wait to continue the journey on DAB.”

Embrace Radio can be heard on 104.7 FM in Northampton and surrounding areas.
