The shortlist for the Audio and Radio Industry Awards has been revealed with 80 nominations for the BBC.
Commercial Radio accounted for approximately 50 nominations spread out over 18 radio stations, whilst podcasting got around 40 mentions on the shortlist.
Prison Radio Association had 11 nominations, Times Radio had 10, and talkSPORT and Absolute Radio got nine each, according to our calculations.
The rest of the nominations went to others including community radio, newspapers and indies.
The shortlist does not reveal which groups or stations entered, but with zero nominations for the UK’s biggest commercial radio operator, it’s fair to say Global chose once again not to take part.
In total, there were 211 nominees recognised ahead of the awards evening scheduled for Tuesday 7th May in London.
