BBC Radio 1 breakfast co-producer Chris Sawyer has announced he’s leaving the station after 15 years.
He’s posted on social media that Friday will be his last show before he ‘runs off to a whole new world of mischief’.
Chris is heard on the show along with Greg James, with listeners and industry colleagues both wishing him well for the future.
He’s created a thread containing some of his highlights at the station, including Hide and Seek, floating on a giant jigsaw, and the moment Radio 1 went off-air for five minutes.
Chris joined BBC Radio 1 after winning a week of work experience there. He started as an assistant producer on the Scott Mills show after graduating from the University of Nottingham, where he was programme controller at URN.
No news yet as to his next move.
It’s my last week at Radio 1!
I’ve been involved with more nonsense than I ever thought it would be possible to fit into a quick 15 years.
