Past Perfect Radio is a new online and smart speaker station playing music from the 1920s to the 1950s.
The station has been created and is operated by radio consultant and programmer, Duncan Barkes for Past Perfect Vintage Music, the nostalgic music record label. It’s aimed at lovers of vintage music with an ad and clutter-free service, playing digitally remastered 78rpm recordings.
Programming includes artist profiles, music from World War 2, songs from stage and screen, plus jazz and big band programmes. The Teatime Show features music from big and tea dance bands, sponsored by The UK Loose Leaf Tea Company.
Evenings from 7pm celebrate the music and wit of Sir Noel Coward, in Noel’s Nightly Interlude, then from 10pm, there’s two hours of vintage love songs from the likes of Nat King Cole, Peggy Lee, Ella Fitzgerald, Frank Sinatra, Bing Crosby and Billie Holiday.
The station’s imaging has been made by Jingle Works using female voiceover Rizzo Voice.

I’ve no doubt it will take the music we love to a bigger audience.”
Duncan Barkes added: “Advances in technology allow us to run this bespoke and niche service that fills a massive gap. If it wasn’t for Billie Holiday, we would never have had Amy Winehouse, without Frank Sinatra countless modern day crooners would have no blueprint. We play the originals from the best on Past Perfect Radio.”
