Three new names set to join BBC Radio 1’s Residency

Ben Hemsley, Fleur Shore and Emerald are the newest names who will join BBC Radio 1’s Residency.

Fleur Shore will take up a residency on Radio 1 Thursdays from 11pm – 1am during April, followed by Emerald in May and Ben Hemsley in June.

Fleur Shore is a Birmingham based DJ and producer, she says: “I’m thrilled to announce that I’ll be joining the BBC Radio 1 family for an exhilarating month-long residency. The support I’ve received from BBC Radio 1 on my releases has been incredible, making this opportunity even more special.

“As a teenager, I religiously tuned in to Annie Mac every Friday night, so being a part of this esteemed line-up is a dream come true. During my residency, I’ll be delving into my collection of records to unveil facets of my sound that haven’t been showcased often. Get ready for an unforgettable journey every Thursday night from 11pm to 1am.”

Hailing from London, Emerald is a self-taught DJ and broadcaster, she says: “Joining the Radio 1 residency team is the opportunity of a lifetime which is a true honour to me.

“Radio has always been a huge passion for me so I can’t wait to sit in that hot seat and deliver you shows full of the music that drives and inspires me, past present and future.

“I’m gonna bring you the best and most beautiful from many corners of the dance music spectrum and treat you to loads of fresh up-and-coming talent.”

North Shields-born Ben Hemsley is a DJ and Producer, he says: “Am buzzing to announce that I am going to be one of BBC Radio 1’s Residents this spring. This opportunity is an absolute honour for me, I’ve listened to the station religiously, finding inspiration, discovery, and now, to have the chance to contribute to its programming is a dream come true.

“One of the things I’m most excited about is the opportunity to share new music, including some unreleased tracks from both myself and my incredibly talented peers. BBC Radio 1 has always been at the forefront of championing new talent, and I’m excited to be a part of that tradition.”
