Coast Radio to pick up where Waves Radio left off in Peterhead

Coast Radio is getting to launch on 101.2 FM in Peterhead following the closure of Waves Radio.

Waves ceased broadcasting last year after 33 years of operations and the commercial radio licence was transferred to a new CIC, WBC Media.

The new station, based in the former OAP Social Club on Peterhead’s Windmill Street, was started by a team of local enthusiasts and will feature a mix of music from the 60s right up to today, with specialist programmes in the evening.

Gavin Harper, Station Manager, told us: “We are very excited to be bringing local radio back to Fraserburgh, Peterhead and the wider North East on DAB.

“The station will offer a mix of great music, specialist shows, community news and events and will bring back some familiar voices to the airwaves once again, right from the heart of Peterhead.”

The station launches at 10:12am on Sunday 26th May and can also be found online at coastradio.scot.
