Eight music radio schedulers have left Bauer as the company implements its latest strategy to streamline operations.
Staff who previously headed the music operations of Absolute Radio, Magic, Jazz, KISS, Scala and GHR are no longer required, with Bauer telling staff this week that separate music leads in each station or network are not part of its plans to simplify decision making.
Bauer says its new structure is in line with its Next Level transformation, setting itself up to work more collaboratively and effectively.
In an email to staff, Director of Audio Gary Stein said the move will open its music teams up to be able to create output across all platforms, fostering greater collaboration, sharing of expertise and developing skills. It shall also simplify the process for contacts within the industry as we’ll have one approach and central decision-making team.
When asked about the changes, a Bauer spokesperson told RadioToday: “As we evolve our music structure to allow for greater collaboration between brands in our portfolio, we have said farewell to a small number of colleagues from our music teams who have now left the business.
“We thank them for their contribution and wish them all the very best for the future.”
