Europe’s Biggest Dance Show is to return to BBC Radio 1

BBC Radio 1 is joining forces with ten radio stations across nine countries for a marathon broadcast, as Europe’s Biggest Dance Show returns for 2024.

It will air on Radio 1 on Friday 20th September from 6.30pm with Danny Howard for the first thirty minutes before handing over to broadcasting partners across the European Broadcasting Union.

Danny Howard says: “It’s my third time doing Europe’s Biggest Dance Show, and I still find it mind blowing how big this is for UK Dance music and Europe as a whole.

“To capture the essence of the dance floor and supersize that into one big continental community, celebrating our respective (super talented) artists for one night only is going to be huge!”

Aled Haydn Jones, Head of BBC Radio 1, says: “I’m very pleased to be broadcasting with our European Broadcasting partners once again to bring an epic night of Dance music to millions across the world. It’s going to be a massive celebration, and I can’t wait to tune in.”

The countries and broadcasters involved are (in order of broadcast):

  • UK, BBC Radio 1
  • Sweden, Sveriges Radio P3
  • Finland, YleX
  • Germany, 1LIVE
  • Germany, Fritz
  • Estonia, ERR Raadio 2
