Merseyside community radio station KCC Live has been found in breach of its licence for not answering two emails from Ofcom.
The regulator asked for a recording of KCC Live’s output after receiving a complaint that the station was not sticking to its Key Commitments.
The station didn’t reply to the email, plus a follow up email, meaning Ofcom could not investigate the complaint.
Therefore, the KCC Live has been found in breach for not communicating with Ofcom – a condition stipulated in all radio licences.
KCC Live will remain on Ofcom’s radar and will be monitored again in the future to ensure the licencee, MissionNeed Limited, is complying with its Key Commitments and Condition 8 of its licence to retain and provide recordings to Ofcom on request.
Also this week, Awaaz FM, Radio Cavell and VITA Radio have been found in breach for reasons relating to Ofcom fees.
